| Wow, it's been a month since I wrote in here. A lot has happened since then. Let me fill you in. So I made it to Ohio all safe and sound. Moved into an upstairs room in Zach's mom and step dad's (Pam and Rob) adorbale farmhouse. All was going well for a few weeks, getting settled and all, getting to know my new 'Ohio fam,' and learning about my surroundings, when on afternoon, Zach and I look out my window to see a police officer parked in the front. Next thing we know, Zach's sister bursts into the room telling us that Rob was serving Pam divorce papers. Totally out of the blue. Not even Pam saw it coming. The next few days were excrutiaing to watch...I can only imagine how she felt. I soon learned that Rob was planning to take the house, which left me about a month to find somewhere else to live. With Pam's world turned upsidedown, I didn't want to be any extra added burden, so I declined her generous and thoughtful offer of considering me when looking for a place of her own, and began looking for my own place. My only other option was to pack my things back up and move in on back to Chicago. No way in hell that's gonna happen, as far as I was concerned. I quickly learned that the price of living out here is ridiculously inexpensive, compared to Chicago. Still, with the awesome prices, I couldn't afford it on my own. The few friends I've made out here are most of them married, and/or just moved into a new place themselves. Plus I didn't know anyone well enough to live with then, considering I haven't even been here 2 months. Enter wonderful amazing sweet boyfriend, Zach. Long story short, he and I (and pup, Finky) signed a lease on a 2 bedroom townhome on the 21st. Its really cute - two stories, one bathroom, w/d, dishwasher, lil patio...and I'm having a ball decorating it! Plus its only a 4-5 minute drive to work, rather than 15ish from the other place. And its in a little town (Marysville), which has shops and stores and stuff...something Milford Center lacked, but made up for in endless cornfields. I don't think I could find a place like this for under $1000/mo. back home, so splitting the $634/mo. rent makes me feel like a theif! Here's us on moving day. I have my excited/Leila face on.
In short, I'm really happy with the way things turned out. Things went a lot quicker than what I would have liked, but that's life. Can't always be prepared for everything. I am however, quite certain that there will be NO MOVING in my near future, as I have had it with that game. (lol!) For now, Zach and are super busy with heavy work schedules, plans of painting and reupholstering, decorating, furnishing, and trying to make sense of the amalgamation of stuff we 've brought into the apartment. We have to really take advantage of simultaneous days off since we haven't been able to spend much quality time together (you'd think living together, that wouldn't be the case, but it is, especially since our work schedules are near opposite!). I got to go home this past weekend. Seeing the fam and friends was absolutely wonderful. Taking 8.5 hours instead of 5 to get there was NOT. I was sure that the constrution they were doing on 94 would be the death of me. It was worth it though :). Thanks for spending time with me, Lei and Sarah. You girls are the best . My next scheduled return is Nov 21-24th for T-give. I better see all ya'll, foo's. Ok hair-dying time! Love! e
